Wednesday 9/18
Another Wednesday Update:
Apparently Dani made it to TACO BELL for dinner but wasn't feeling up to being out any longer so had to return to the hospital. Hope he enjoyed being out for a little while anyway. (I'm wondering if LeeAnn was driving?)
Wednesday 9/18
I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOU ALL!!!
It appears "Our Man Dan" is becoming a celebrity. As I am writing this he is being photographed and interviewed by "The Tribune Review". They will be following his progress and writing a story about the safety issues regarding wearing helmets. Let's hope this will help to save others from going through the pain and anguish the Dani and his family have been dealing with.
Dani is continuing to improve quickly and easily with his physical movements. And he is constantly on the GO!! And speaking of being on the go, Dani gets to get out into the real world today. He is going to go see the movie SPY KIDS. He will still need to use the wheelchair but they did consider letting him walk.
On the dissapointing side, he is not progressing as quickly as hoped with his memory. They feel that some of this may be due to him struggling with attention deficit. Let's continue to pray that they will be able to find out how Dani's mind is wired and determine the best way to work his thoughts.

Friday 9/13
Dani's therapy is moving right along. He is now moving his right arm and leg. They are still weak but he is making progress everyday. He is really maneuvering around the hospital well in his wheelchair. He has made himself quite at home.
LeeAnn and Aaron were told today by the doctors that they project that Dani will be at Harmarville for six weeks then will be able to "walk" out on his own. THIS IS REALLY EXCITING NEWS!!
Dani will continue to go to therapy once he gets home. He is still struggling with his memory and finding the right words to use. But, again everyday there is an improvement and hopefully it will all come back in time.

Tuesday 9/10
It seems that Dani still has his sense of humor. While LeeAnn was in the bathroom Dani managed to wheel himself out of the room and behind the door to hide from her. He also has been nicknamed "The Cheater" by his therapist. Apparently when he is asked to move his right leg he finds it funny to kick it with his left leg. NOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE DANI!! BUT, he does then do as they ask and they have said that he is working very hard. He can now lift his arm and move his leg. It does take him alot of effort but he is not giving up. He is continually pushing himself.
HERE IS A VERY FUNNY STORY
LeeAnn left the hospital this morning to go home for a short while. When she arrived home Aaron was on the phone and told her it was for her. Being very early in the morning she wondered who it was. IT WAS DANI!! She was dumbfounded and asked him how he knew the number and to her amazment he rattled it off to her. She found that she had forgotten the cell phone at the hospital and he used it to call home. There is never a dull moment with this guy. Dani is definately an inspiration to us all.
We are finding that the mind is very complex. As Dani remembered his home phone number and plays tricks he also easily forgets where he is and becomes very frightened or even sometimes sullen. We all remember from the day before the progress he has been making but he faces it as a brand new struggle not remembering things from the previous day. When LeeAnn leaves his room even to just walk down the hall to stretch her legs she leaves him a note to let him know where she is. With his constant improvement we feel that all the pieces will eventually fall into place for him but it will take alot of encouragment and prayer from all of his family and friends. Thanks for all of your support.
