Sunday 10/6
Gosh, It has been over a week since I have put in an update!!

Last week Dani enjoyed his day out even more than we could have imagined. We thought for sure that going to church and seeing a few people would wear him out BUT on the contrary. Dani not only went to church, he went to visit his neighbor, gave an interview to the news paper media, went to an air show, rented a movie and went to youth group.

He has one more "Day Pass" that he will be able to use and he is already making plans.

Dani is scheduled to be released from Harmarville on October 18th. He is so anxious to be home.

Dani has a CAT Scan scheduled for tomorrow 10/7 which he will be going to BUT (I seem to use that word alot) BUT last wednesday Dani tapped on his head and got a severe headache so he was taken to the hospital and given an unscheduled CAT Scan. Everything was O.k. but they were able to tell LeeAnn and Aaron that Dani brain is still swollen. It appears from what they said that the bone flaps won't be replaced for awhile yet. They don't want to rush putting them in becuase if they put them back to early Dani may require a shunt to drain fluid from the brain. Hopefully they will have more information after tomorrows tests.

We are continuing to pray for Dani's acceptance of his condition. Being a fifteen year old boy it is difficult to take things slow. Last week when Jackie and I were visiting him we went to the gym. He was hitting a punching bag and said to us that his right arm was weak. We reminded him that two short weeks ago we were jumping up for joy because he was barely moving his thumb. Dani and his family still have a long way to go and we still need to remember them in our daily prayers.

GUESS WHO'S GETTING TO GO OUT ON A DAY TRIP !!!

That's right, DANI!! This sunday LeeAnn and Aaron are going to be able to bring Dani home for part of the day. The first stop in the morning, as long as he feels o.k. is CROSSFIRE. He was asked what he wanted to do when he came home and he wants to go to church. He is so excited to see everyone. There is a chance that with the ride to Butler and all the chaos that it may be too much for him but he's going to try and make it.

We all need to encourage Dan to take things slow and not to do things before the doctors tell him it is o.k. He is struggling with understanding the severity of his condition.

You will be amazed when you see him. He is doing so well!!
Monday 9/23
Over the weekend Dani was able to be outside walking. They are trying to prepare him to make a day trip home. He has been bugging everyone wanting to know when he can go home. He is very anxious to be at home.

Dani has really been keeping everyone on their toes at the hospital including LeeAnn. It is hard for him to understand why he needs to wear the helmet and why he needs help to be out of bed. He is constantly being reminded that he needs to be careful until the bone is replaced in his skull. That is the Dan we all know coming through he is showing his determination.

LET'S ALL PRAY EXTRA FOR PATIENCE FOR DANI AS HE REALIZES HIS CONDITION AND CONTINUES HIS JOURNEY OF RECOVERY.<
Thursday 9/19
We had such a wonderful visit with Dani tonight. He is so much stronger. He is able to get himself in and out of the wheelchair himself. Although his not allowed he'll try to talk you into letting him. (It's that salesman trait coming out again.)
He was wheeling down the halls so fast that we could hardly keep up. We listened to some of his christian music that he enjoys and we even squeezed in a game of "Tic Tac Toe".

I have to tell you all that it was such an inspiration to watch Dani tonight. As we travelled from room to room and inside the hospital to outside Dani took time to speak to everyone that came into his path. (And most everyone knew him by name. I know that doesn't surprise those of you that know Dani or his mother very well.) I was so touched seeing how happy he made the people he spoke to. He has such an open heart and I wish there were more people that were like him in this world.

Dani has met a special friend while in the hospital at Harmarville. Her name is Christina. She is 19 and there are only a few teenagers in Harmarville at this time. LeeAnn is sure that she is an "angel" sent from God. She has been praying for Dani everyday. She also checks on Dani everyday giving him someone to lean on. LeeAnn has asked that we add Christina to our prayer list. She was in a car accident and suffered a spinal chord injury. She is not able to walk very well at this time. She will be leaving Harmarville this Saturday but will continue therapy for about a year. Please pray for strength in her legs, ankles and feet. I'm sure that someday she will be a radiant bride walking down the aisle in her beautiful white gown.

Well, we asked Dani tonight what the first thing was he wanted to do when he got out of the hospital. He said "GO SKATEBOARDING". We said "What? Are your nuts??!!!!". He added "With a helmet." Some kids I tell ya. He is determined to make his mother go bananas.
