What Happened?
On Friday 8/16/02 LeeAnn went off to work as normal. Aaron was home in the morning and at approx. 8:50am left to take Sam to first grade orientation. Dani stayed at home and was watching television.
When Aaron returned home at about 9:30am neighbors were flagging him down and immediately took him to an ambulance that Dani was already in which was transporting him to a life flight helicopter. Dani did talk to Aaron asking him where they were at and what happened. He was very confused and scared.
One of the neighbors filled Aaron in telling him that Dani fell off his skateboard and was knocked unconscience. A woman driving by seen him laying there and stopped. Another woman stopped behind her. The first woman went to a neighbor's house to ask for help and call 911. Dani at this time woke up and stood up in an effort to go home but fell back down again. He was so relentless on his attempt to return home that he started crawling. His friend and neighbor then held him until the ambulance arrived.
Aaron then returned home to contact LeeAnn so they could immediately leave for the hospital. |
