10/7 - 10/18
FRIDAY 10/18
Dani is doing really well today. He has been up walking around and is anxious to get out of the hospital. Nothing personal against the wonderful staff of doctor's and nurses that have cared for him but he has definately had his fill of hospital stays for awhile. I guess Dorothy was right "There's no place like home." Hopefully he will be home within the next 24 hours but I will keep you posted.
THURSDAY 10/17
DANI HAS MADE IT THROUGH THE SURGERY WITH FLYING COLORS AND IS JUST WAKING UP.
They replaced one side of the skull from approximately 8:30am to 10:30am then they had to reposition him to perform the surgery on the other side. They finished the surgery some time around 12:15pm.
Prior to his surgery he had the opportunity to meet Dr. Forbes and some of the nurses from his first visit that he unfortunately couldn't remember. They were very excited to meet the real Dan.
Dani was just starting to wake up between 2:00pm and 2:30pm. He was feeling alot of pain. (He took pain medicine and said a prayer then he felt much better.) Unfortunately he will remember and feel all the pain from this surgery.
They say that he will be in the hospital for two to three days.
FRIDAY 10/11 All is still o.k. with Dani.
This weekend was the perfect weekend for him to be home prior to his surgery because he is looking forward to going on a scavenger hunt with the youth group tomorrow (Saturday).
Thursday 10/10
DANI'S HOME !!!!!!!!!
And he is loving it !! Of course his first meal back in Butler had to be at the Hot Dog shop. Be sure to call and stop by he is so anxious to see and talk to everyone.
Monday 10/7
I am back already and with lots of WONDERFUL news. Dani will be coming hame earlier than expected. He will be leaving Harmarville this Thursday October 10th. They will be trying to schedule his therapy in Butler so he will not have to travel to Harmarville everyday. This will lift a huge burden off of their family.
Now, as if that was not big enough. Dani had his CAT scan today and the doctor that reviewed the results has scheduled Dani for Surgery on Thursday 10/17 to have the bone flaps replaced. God has definately answered Dani's prayers.
Dani will have to remain under constant watch for at least 30 days after his surgery. They have even mentioned that Dani could be back in school before Christmas (well maybe not all of Dani's prayers have been answered the way he wanted. ha ha ha)
